i changed the drivers side axel and baering but now when i drive the car the antilock off light comes on. yes i made sure the ribs were the same number on the new axel is there a way to test the sensor

the magnet on the sensor may have some metal filings that "short out" the sensor ...or it could be the sensor has to be adjusted closer to the "teeth". This happened to me when a mechanic did the wheel bearing and I was luckey, can you imagine the cost to diagnose that, maybe a new sensor etc. Now we know why mecanics especilly the dealers don't like us w/ older cars. Let everyone know what you come up with, like to know if Iam close.
