I can't speak for other compressors. The other choice is to unscrew the low pressure switch under the passenger side plastic cowl.

with the Delco A6 compressor, no LP port. I have also seen Denso's with a slightly different manifold/prechamber block, also w/o a LP port.
If your accumulator is original or OEM, there more than likely isn't a LP port there either.
Dealers and some AC shops can service AC through the HP port.

I have a late build 86 with the Nippon Denso system. I have heard that the 84's, 85's, and probably early 86's had a GM Delco compressor. Check the sticker on your driver's door jam to read the month/year that your car was manufactured. Teabagger, your car may have been manufacturere in late '85, but sold as an '86 model. All the advise you have been getting has been for the Nippon system, which you don't have.
You may want to consider doing an upgrade to the Nippon Denso system. I have heard that Audi went to Nippon because it is a more efficient system then the Delco. Nippon uses a rotary vane pump, vs the GM piston pump design. Parts easy to come by at your friendly wrecking yard............Rooster

Compressors from the 80/90 series fit the 5000's right? I am thinking it would be cheaper to pick up a new compressor (mine might be bad anyways) and then recharge it with the r-134a kit that I bought.

To mount a Denso compressor you will need all the mounting and adjusting brackets, hardware, and both HP and LP hoses from a donor car, removing and replacing all in your car.
If you don't want to use or rebuild the junk yard compressor, it will come in handy as a core for getting a remanufactured one.

I tried some resealer first last week, that didn't work. The furthest that I have gotten is to spray some engine cleaner on it, then pressure spray to remove the crud to work on it. I probably will just buy a rebuilt unit and do an R&R. It would be my luck, that I would do a lousy rebuild if I did it myself, so better off to ante up the $245 for the rebuild............Rooster
