Succesfull blower motor replacement - thanks for pointers!
Well, replaced the blower motor over the weekend: it worked and I didn't break anything important! Thanks for all the suggestion/pointers. I would have been totally lost with only the Bentley!
I was able to just pull up the heater box enough to get the motor out, so that was good, didn't have to disconnect too much. BUT, it took me like 5 hours 'cause I had to hunt around and try to figure out what comes off where. It beat me up too, I am have bruises and lots of scrapes, plus sore back from crawling in, under and around the beast.
It's great to have a defrosted window again, I wonder why these things always break in the winter? Plus, it is great to may my wife off my back saying "why do we have to drive this piece of ###@#$@ that always breaks down"! Anyway, thanks for the pointers all.

Next time someone ask for help on how to replace the blower motor.......
you will be able to chime in big time with your advise. Every time I had to replace the motor, I cussed the design engineering team that dreamed up that configuration. Welcome to the blower motor replacement team. Larry (Rooster2)

Re: I vote for the post as well - my fan has been making noise on 'high' lately :(
Blau included a fairly useful instruction sheet for doing the blower motor with the new Bosch blower for about $100.
Incidentially my experience has been that these things last about 100,000 miles running on auto/econ and then the brushes are gone. So I have been running mine on low speed most of the time. Sure enough it lasted more than 200,000 miles. But then the damn variable resistor went out. My guess is running at low speed all the time keeps the resistor at a high resistance (and high temp). That little part is more than $200! But I got real lucky and found one off a Cadillac Eldo on ebay for $35.
So now I'm back to leaving the fan speed on auto.
But I reserve the right to change my mind again in 100,000 miles.

Re: I vote for the post as well - okay okay, I will
Ok, I'll do a quick writeup, especially with what to look for where, a thing that takes me a lot of time - but not tonight, it's too late!
I wish I had known about the Blau instructions, thier instructions that comes with their "plug-and-play" harness for Euro lites was awesome.
