ok guys, so, put the head back in new lifters SO QUIET! its great, closed up all the cooling system leaks i had, had to go re tighten a few hose clamps, changed the oil, new filter and all, she fires right up and idles beautifully. like hasn't sound so good since I have owned the car,
but when I slowly rev her up as soon as i hit 1800rpm she starts to surge really bad, will not smooth out either, if you try and give it more gas she will start to backfire. any ideas? as far as i can tell i have everything back the way it was, i just went through and rechecked all my hose clamps on the vacuum lines, which i replaced most of. ideas?

Just went out and checked the boost gauge. not the one on the dash, previous owner installed a variable boost controler, not quite sure the routing. but its as soon as i start to create any pressure, also the car is a 1990 200 quatt.

So i have gone through everything several times, and all that is left is the wiring on the distributor, the plug on there is broken, all the wires and the associated spades pulled out as i took it apart i had noticed it was feeling kinda flimsy before...oops, so i put the single spades in the three slots on the female side of the connector, but not sure if i had the order right, if it were wrong the car wouldn't start right? if anyone can tell me the colors of the wiring inside the distributor and what color wire they match up too that would be great! thanks
