Those of you that have amplifiers installed, where did you mount it?

Under the rear seat
A small high-current amp fits perfectly under the rear seat next to the battery, and makes wiring a cinch! Something small that can easily power larger component speakers for your front sound stage fits no problem.
As for a rear subwoofer amp, I mounted mine under the floor on my Avant, but there's not really a good spot to 'hide' an amp in the trunk of the sedans that I'm aware of.

thanks, a friend of mine that used to be the head installer at tweeter has a 4 channel amp he is
willing to sell to me for dirt cheap (40 bucks) only prob w/ it is when volume is turned all the way down it has a hum, but not noticeable at any other time. I'm not planning on mounting a sub as you said in the sedans there isn't really room

Cool - just make sure it'll fit in that spot and you'll be good to go!
Make sure the connections point to either side, not towards the front or rear or you'll have issues getting the seat back on!

1 q, where did you run the wires from the head? I really want to avoid just running them in the door
sill. maybe just pull the seat out and try to jam them behind the carpet?

Under the carpet and console on the tunnel
I pulled out the front seats, which gave me access to feed all wiring directly under the carpet and center console area all the way back to the rear seat/battery area. There's an access hole or two between the tunnel and the underside of the seat area/battery area.
I'll all make sense when you get it apart, but like you I didn't want to run wiring at the sill. This makes for a shorter run and a cleaner install. Just make sure you run EVERYTHING you'll need, you won't want to do it again!

Have two "mounted" with velcro on top of the fuel-tank "shelf".
You need to get the heavier duty stuff, and obviously just use the "hook" side to grab the trunk carpet. Run amps like that in three Typ44 cars over a 13 year span ;-)
