tips on getting the oil pan off? rear bolts blocked by subframe... btdts?

tips on getting the oil pan off? rear bolts blocked by subframe... btdts?

You have to take the two larger bolts out of the subframe mounts, and fold down the crossmember. Then you can remove the flywheel cover, then you can acess the two oil pan bolts through grooves in the flywheel when the flywheel is in the correct position.

Default thats a pain in the azz considering i'm just doing it to see if any parts are in there...

i guess i will go ahead and do it though.. even though i already know the car is fvckd....

BTW, tedub is right, but it's a lot of work...I've pulled the engine out for all new gaskets, ending up having to do the clutch now too. Sweet.

take out front bolts on the subframe - it will drop down and give you room.

Yes, raise the car and support it with jack stands. Use a floor jack to support the subframe and remove the front bolts. Lower the floor jack and the subframe will drop. You do not have to remove the subframe in order to get to the rear oil pan bolts.
