i was looking at this transmission that a fella is gonna sell me. He had it taken out of his mom's car back 7 or 8 years ago b/c the car got totalled. The tranny has 15,xxx miles on it but has been sitting the past 7 to 8 years. Am i looking for trouble by putting it on? i'd imagine that some of the seals have gone a bit dry. any opinions?!

what is the tranny?
I did that too. I changed all seals, it s not big deal to do , easy.
was a 016 tranny.
Change mains bearing as well if they are pins rust on them.
or at least change the flange bearing, it s easy.
If you dont do that you ll get trouble, lose oil then burn the tranny. the seal ll cut very fast and you ll lose oil very fast. it happened to my 90 ;-), was close home oufffff, fixed it then i could use it again ;-).
I can tell you what to do to make it easy to change.

mmm i dont know what is that tranny.
you can get seal and bearings at Bearing dealer ;-)
General bearing or something like.
It must be a dealer around you where you can get them.
Are you in us or in canada ? where ?
