Default Depends on the kind of car you drive...

...5000 must use Pestonin CHF 7.1 Hydro-fuild A.k.a. "audi gold". At least the 5000's I've owned. My Urq on the other hand must run ATF as steering fuild.

I believe the 100/200 Type 44s use Pentosin CHF 11S

Default Most likely...

You'll need Pentosin 11s...

It's the synthetic version of 7.1 that was used on the older 5000, etc...

Audi updated the hydralic system in 89+ and you cannot use the 7.1 in the newer system.

You cannot/should not use ATF in this system.

Default The TSB was issued in 90 for the swap to 11S

They are mixable, they both carry the same PN g002000. The later cars it's not recommended to use 7.1 because 11S allows lines to be routed closer to high heat sources, the 7.1 will overheat. Think of it as Mobil 1 (11s) vs dyno oil (7.1)

If you find yourself in a pinch, Sam's Club sells Mineral Oil in bulk.

Use the correct fluid or risk replacing power steering pump or steering rack.
