Default Vinyl vs Cloth Headliner from Joann's Fabrics

Went shopping for a 100/200 headliner material today. Joann's Fabrics had a nice selection. Bought some black vinyl so than I can make the C pillar look like the A and B pillars.

I am considering doing the headliner vinyl too and need some BTDT. Flat vs glossy, type of backing that will hold up to heat, adhesive, etc. There were some faux leathers with white cotton like backing, flat vinyl, glossy vinyl, etc.

I am thinking leather like vinyl will add richness to the interior.

Thoughts?

No BTDT, but, I'd think vinyl would be too heavy.

I'm also redoing the headlining (at some point soon) and saw some reduced cloth in joannes - it had the look of Alcantra about it, this would probably be better for the headliner.

I bought the cotton backed 'faux leather' and recovered the sunroof motor cover. Doesn't look too bad BUT if you do use this type of covering, take off the cotton backing first - it lets the vinyl 'stretch' slightly so easier for fitting around odd shapes (like a cars headlining)
