Default Perhaps we can help you get yours running...

What seems to be the problem?

I have a 1989 200 TQ Avant that is OK from the doors back. the front end was the victim of an errant SUV that decided to run a red light. Was running perfectly until then.

Mine's running ok except for:
1. Has a fuel line leak, can see it dripping just behind front passnenger seat ... I read somewhere here, or else where , just to get compression fittings, cut out are where leak iss occuring and install short piece new. Do you know diameter of fuel lines?
2. RR Window lift stopped working
3. front passenger seat switch is bad
4. Windshield wiper switch cluster bad
5. A/C compressor causes the altenator belt to fail after about 3 months (disconnect the A/C elec connection and altinator belt is fine, but now it's HOT so I'll have to reconnect, and probalby have to get a new compressor)

All in all not major stuff, but want a backup car for parts since they can be hard to get/expensive ... Oh to find that neurotic old german who kept his car perfect ad now wishes to sell .! I love the turbo/handling ...

Thanks for any help with the fuel line.
This is a great forum!

Default There is a holder that the fuel line passes through in the area yuo describe...

The good money says that's where you will find your leak. Compression fittings are the best route but a short length of hose and double clamp either end should suffice. I don't know the diameter off the top of my head. Perhaps someone else can chime in here.

The window is probably the door hinge wiring.

I haven't heard of a seat switch failing yet. Perhaps a connector became unplugged under the seat?

You can probably get a new wiper switch set from the wrecker... and a compressor while you are at it.

Good luck.
