Assume all tensioners, idlers, rollers, bearings are being done. The serpentine belt, tensioners and rad fan are all being removed. Which special tools are required for the job??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Crank locking tool, the two cam locking tool and the pin wrench to remove the viscousity fan.
The crank locking tool is used to help remove the BIG crank bolt similar to the tools used on the 5cyl. The cam locking tool is use to set the cams to TDC and hold it in place. You will have to remove both distibutors and use the cam tool to lock the cam shaft. The pin wrench is use to hold the pulley for the viscousity fan.
You should also replace the thermostat and water pump and reseal the distibutor seals.

Thankyou Sir!
W/P, thermostat and dizzy seals all on the list of things to replace/reseal including a few coolant hoses.
That pin/spanner wrench, assuming you're referring to part # 3212...where do I get that tool? Blau wants big bucks for it.![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Also, camshaft and crankshaft holder tools....I'm assuming a good breaker bar will suffice instead...?
Thanks!

http://www.zdmak.com/ You can also try ebay and search for "pin wrench".

Noooooo!!!! Use the right tools. You need the cam locking tool to get the timing correct. If you're off by one tooth your car will run like sh*t. There are no marks on the cam shaft pulley to line up which is why you need the cam shaft tool and just a reminder this is an interference engine.
You must use the cam locking tool to lock the cam in place, then you loosen the cam pulley bolts and allow it to spin freely as you adjust the tension on the timing belt (the cam pulleys are on a taper shaft). After the tension is set on the belt you tighten the cam pulley bolts.

http://www.zdmak.com/</a
