Default What brand of brake pads?

What kind do i buy for my 1990 V8 Q? Obviously they are the UFO's...and i thought i had to buy the whole assembly, but apparently i can just buy new pads, is this true or was the auto shop full of themselves? If so, they had two brands that were totally diferent sizes but coming up for the same car...What do i do? My pads are close to medal-medal, so i need to do it soon.

Thanks

Default Just pads is cool if the rotors are in good shape.

The rotors are about $200 each.

Get it fixed ASAP once you damaged the UFO rotors, then you will have to get them replaced. There are few shop (if any) that can turn down a UFO rotor. Replacement rotors will run about $500 for the pair. The two sizes probably indicates the UFO and the G60.

Default Re: What brand of brake pads?

Well I have Remsa Gold pads and Bladi rotors on my 88'5ktq and 00' S4. Man this brake combo really rocks. Well first of all AudiSport uses the Remsa gold brand on their Audi's. Bladi is the company that designed the rotor for the Audi S1. The Resma Gold pad is very rotor friendly and produces very very little dust. The Bladi rotors are chronoed so they dont warp like standard oem rotors and are 25% stronger then Zimmermanns for the same price. I got the brake kit for my 5ktq shipped for $380.00 and the brake combo was $399.00 shipped. This is a high quality brake kit and just have the backing of AudiSport and the Company that made the rotors for the Audi S1 is enough for me and its not expensive also. 1-888-489-2834 is the only # that you will need when it comes to your Audi needs.

Default your pads are metal to metal? well you need rotors also.

you want your rotors and pads to have the same surface of each other. When you change your pads always change your rotors, dont take a chance and resurface your rotors that will only make your rotors warp anyways save your time and money and get new rotor and pads.
