Dropping off the head at the rebuilder's today and didn't have one big enough to pull them. Any body know?

some people have had luck using a 1/2 inch hex or you could use a bolt with a 13mm head with a couple of nuts tightened against eachother on the shaft... I bought the 13mm hex from snap-on, not exactly cheap, then the replacement inserts weren't even 13mm, they were 12mm... arrrhhh!

If you've done the head bolts or the driveshaft bolts, you most likely already have the tool you need.
Go to any autoparts store with a lisle tool section (most carry this brand), you are looking for the triple square (12point) kit (6,8,10,12mm). The other side of each of triple square are.... A 13mm hex (since you use a 13mm socket to drive them). 12mm for head bolts, 10mm for driveshaft bolts, give the 8 to your vw buddy (driveshafts), and use the 6 for buggered 4-5mm allen bolt removal. ~12USD IMS.
