Default I think they're handsome

I don't know what they're called, but I've always admired their looks: simple in appearance, relatively light, adequate cooling, easy to keep clean. Their form follows their function.

Default Re: Those rims were om my 4000.

The 4000 was a Commemorative Edition. The rims looked great (I thought)on the 4000. The wheel size was too small on the 5000 and Avant given the vehicle length and width IMO.

Default You're just saying that because...

you probably have them mounted on your car

J/K...

To each thier own. I hate those rims however.

All Audi's type 44's should have came with FUCH's or basketweave BBS's IMHO...

Default I just like an uncluttered look

. . . but you are correct: my car's fitted with them. I love 'em, but wish that they were 15" dia instead of 14".

If you're ever in Switzerland or France, try to visit the Schlumpf museum, in Mulhouse, France. 500 cars, of which about 150 are Bugattis. Just an examination of Bugatti's many wheel designs is interesting. Many modern wheels look derivative of his pre-war designs.
