theres a little coolant tube that goes to the small outlet attaching to where the thermostat is on the bottom, it goes straight into a metal coolant line that goes under the knock sensor, that metal line is t d off and that line goes to the secondary water pump, i have no goddamn space to get at it and when i tried to take the line out so i could tighten a hose clamp around there irealized its fastend to the block so you who ever came up with that idea sorry for the anger ive been stuck at home cause of this bs

I believe knock sensors are like crush washers--designed for one-time use only. I think if you take one off and try to reinstall it, you'll have sensor problems.
The way to get to that hose is to remove the power steering pump.

I used to own the same car (quattro-not sure if yours is though). I always wondered how in the world I would replace that hose if it blew open. Every coolant hose on that car lasted the 19 years I owned it since it was new. Too bad the auxiliary coolant pumps didn't. I replace three of them.
After 19 years the car went to charity last year. No, she's not a dancer at Cheetah's! That Charity deserves a D3 A8L.
