Default Who needs a heater core anyway. Not me.

Ok yeah I do...

The only thing I can figure out is that my heater core has a small leak which is causing the drivers half of the windsheild to fog up ALL THE TIME. its gotten to the point where all the windows fog up except for the passenger half of the windsheild. I have to add a small amount of coolant every 2-3 weeks. There really isnt a way to tell if its the core thats leaking but thats gotta be what causing this. MY recirc flap is working properly so thats off the list. And if it was a recirc flap issue the whole windsheild would fog up....not just half.

I had to do this on my 86 and it was not fun at all. So wish me luck guys.

Default Check the drains under the plenum...if you have them.

pluged drains caused water to back up and run into the passenger compartment on my 92 100...causing massive ammounts of condensation on the windshield.

my 1990 100 has the same drains.

The coolant that your having to add every few weeks is most likely evaporating as it's leaking from the core. Also, check the carpet on the pass floor. It may feel dry at first but push really hard on it and I bet your hand gets wet. BTDT.

First verify that the heater core is leaking, you really don't want to take out the heater box unless the core is really the problem.

You can make a tester from hoses, tire stem, and a plastic tee connector. Expoxy an old tire stem into the tee and use a bicyle pump to bring the pressure up to 15psi. See if it holds at 15psi for 30 minutes. If it holds at 15psi then your problem is somewhere else.
