wot check engine light

so in my 87 audi turbo quattro (german edition) now at wide open throttle i get a check engine light that comes on and off,as soon as i back away from wide open throttle the light comes off.. weird anybody have an idea what that could be.

as knock sensors are doing their job and detecting the lean condition. I'd try not to drive it at full boost until you fix the underlying issue(s).

Remember SteveJ's mantra on car repair:
"Check the easy stuff first."
Lean conditions can be caused by something as easy as a clogged air filter or fuel filter, or one (or more) of your injectors may be partially blocked - run some Techron fuel injector cleaner in your next tank full of $$$ premium.
Let us know what you find.

the air filter fuel filter fuel pump, o2 sensor, plugs, wires, rotor and cap are brand new, the idle mixture screw was tampered with in hopes of solving previous rough idle problems fyi
