Blaupunkt speakers wired direct to the headunit.

I'm guessing it's the 4" in the dash... and you don't want bass to them because...
it will distort! There's no point in sending low frequencies to small speakers because at any sort of volume, you'll get immense distortion, especially coming from a power source like a headunit. You're likely not hearing the low freq's anyhow.
Throw them resistors on there and cut off that bass!
