I recently got an 016 transmission from a 85 4000 Quattro. They had the 016 correct? What all would I need to put this tranny in my Coupe? Any links or information is appreciated.

Trans mounts and propshaft - use 4kQ stuff, that way it'll bolt right up.

You need to do something about the flywheel as your car has a flywheel with an integral inputshaft bearing - the 016 needs a bearing in the crank.

The tricky part is the linkage. Mance, don't remember what he's called here on AW these days, made a pretty trick solution using the alu bucket from a B5A4 and parts off a 4Kq. Toxcheap welded in parts of the 4KQ tunnel into his B3 and used the stock 4KQ linkage. I plan on using the same bucket Mance did but I'm making my own linkage made from Audi 200 20V, Audi B5 S4 and custom made bits. But, I guess a 5KQ linkage could be used but it will not bolt up - you'll have to figure out how to cover up the hole in the tunnel in some way.

It's not hard but there is no real bolt on parts to solve this problem. A bunch of guys over at www.motorgeek.com has done this - Toxcheap, newt, Jim G... So, do a bit of searching there and also search here on AW for Mance's stuff.

toxcheap actually used a 5K tunnel and shift linkage. :0)
