From my previous job I have an LS1 and harness I was going to put in a project wagon that was stolen yesterday. I dont forsee getting the wagon back (neither did the cops) so I did some poking around and it seems ford GT40 replica builders use an audi 01E 6 speed trans (from a A6TT or S4TT) to mate up an LS1 with a flywheel adapter. Im wondering if anyone has ventured this route, or if theres a source for flywheel adapters to mate up to an 01A?
(see the 4k forum or norcal about the stolen 71 vista cruiser)
EDIT: Here's the info about what i found poking around. Including an LS1 mated up to an 01E, obviously the exhaust would be routed differently but looks awesome!
