I run 16x7.5 and 17x7.5 et35 wheels (the ATS's). I normally run a 225/50-16 and a 215/45-17 (too skinny IMO, next set will be either a 225 or 235). Either wheel can accept a 245 section tire because the offset is correct, and gives proper tie rod clearance as well as fender lip clearance.
An ET45 wheel with a 225 tire will be like a 245 tire on an ET35 wheel.
Plus, the ET45 will set the wheels inward too far, and will look "funny". ET35's look "right" on the car visually. Regardless of tire size, on a CQ with ET45 wheels, run a 10mm spacer.
