1991 80 - Failing NOx Emissions. Any ideas?
Taken it to 4 mechanics. Most recent diagnosis is ignition timing problem. Spark is firing too soon causing high combustion temperatures --> emissions problems.
He thinks its either the Engine Management Computer, Ignition Control Unit, or distributor. Does this sound reasonable?
If so, know anyone who would be willing to swap parts for a day (up to $100 cash or mechanic services) so he can figure out which one it is?

Re: Recently replaced (catalytic converter too)
Just replaced the O2 sensor and the catalytic converter. Also worked on timing belt. The list goes on, but so far nothing has worked. Getting desperate - I miss my car.
