Default 1994 90Q Engine overheat and rad fans don't come on

The other day I noticed a bit of engine overheat problem. Need your help...
The temp gauge passes half and rad fans don't kick in. Replaced the sensor on the radiator but rad fans didn't come on. Could this be a thermostat or a stuck fan relay?

Thanx ... Dana

Default Thermostats in the B4s typically don't get stuck and overheat...they rather get stuck so the car...

...never warms up - if your temp gauge reads below normal, then, you could suspect the thermostat...

Have you checked fuses/relays? Do you have enough coolant in the car? Is it the right coolant (can't mix Audi coolant with most generic/store bought).

Default Good advice - relay, fuse, - check the power to the the fans with a voltmeter and trace it back

he should get a shop manual with the wiring diagrams

Checked all the relays and fuses. They seem fine ... I'm now suspecting temp sensors! Any idea why the temp sensors would quit?

Thank you for replying. Really appreciate it but i'm desperate for some advice. I checked the fuses and the relays and all seem fine.
The temperature gauge works fine. I get the temerature warning when the temp gauge passes 110 degress. So would I be correct to say the problem isn't related to water temperature sender if the gauge works fine? Appreciate some help ...Dana

Sounds like it's probably fan related, have you pulled the codes on your car?

If you turn the A/C on, do the fans come on?
