Hello,
I have a 1994 90 that wont idle at all for the first couple minutes after being started for last 2 days.
The last 2 days here have been colder the usual, -25 and -15 overnight. I went out today and yesterday and went to start the car to let it warm up a little and both days it would stall unless I kept my foot on the gas. After a couple minutes it would be fine and I took take my foot off the gas and went back inside. Also, other then the no idle for the first couple minutes it ran perfect and started up no problem after work yesterday. Once it would idle it idled perfect as well and was not rough in the least. It only got up to -15 or so yesterday during the day but it only sat for about 9 hours at work rather then the 16 it sits overnight.
Any ideas to check it is happens again tomorrow morning?
Thanks
Hunter

Cheap oil. 10/40 from the parts store or wherever i happen to be when it needs oil. It has never done this before but this is the first time it has gotten this cold although having it get down to 5 or 10 is not unusual and it always started and idled ok then.
I was leaning towards maybe the ICS being a bit frozen or possible even a little water in the gas but the thing i find strange is the car is still freezing cold but after maybe 2 or 3 minutes of not letting it die it holds the idle perfect and runs perfect.
My other thought was the fuel pump motor starting up slow at that temp or some other parts begin frozen for a the first couple minutes.

A quick update in case it helps anyone else…
The car started and idled fine this morning although it was 17, not -20’s. I put some seafoam in it yesterday and put gas from a different gas station in it to get the tank above ˝ way. Anyway…. It seems to be idling correctly again.
Thanks,
Hunter
