424 started the trip but 2 were lost in surgery. I'm gettin good at this ;-). So, 211 pair and wouldn't break my heart to NEVER do another one!
Some specs:
1. 224grams/7.9ozs each. Just over 50% heavier than the smaller swaged tops they replace. But a far closer-tolerance fit to the UrQ and/or UrS struts that will now go into them. Only .030" difference between UrQ/UrS Bilstein OD and Big bore extension ID. As compared to just under 3x that much in strut tubes made specifically for that strut.
2. Best threading I've ever personally accomplished. Sometimes ya get good, sometimes ya get really good and sometimes ya just flat-out f*cking nail it! I nailed it 422 times!! Every one was test-fitted to full thread engagement in a strut cap as it came off the lathe and even with only one thread engaged there's no slop whatsoever. Ya simply cannot rock the strut cap even when only engaged on one thread. That NEVER happens! I know the concept will be lost on most but its H-U-G-E!
3. I came in on-budget at $55 pair including lower 48 state Priority Mail shipping but the post office threw me a curve and raised rates. I havent packaged and weighed any yet but I've checked rates and its prolly gonna be $58 per pair shipped (lower 48). But the good news is I wanna dump some of these quickly. With all the coilover conversion kit production going on around here I'm up to my eyeballs in small machined parts and have precious little wriggle-room in the garage. So for the rest of the month I'll take 25% off per pair and pay lower 48 shipping. I'll take orders immediately but wont start shipping til Thursday/Friday as I'm behind on some other things and I want to bring "size-specific" shipping containers in here for these to cut down on packing material, weight and excess postage.
Bottom line: you can buy these for the rest of May, 2007 for $43.50 per pair shipped to your door! Tho final proof-read printed instructions may not be copy-written for a week. Effective June 1, 2007 price goes to $58 per pair shipped.
3 more pics to follow and then we'll resume your normal broadcast programming and I'll take a much needed 3 fingers of bourbon.

At this point people just going larger struts with stock or aftermarket sport springs and not coilovers just weld the big-bore extension in, paint and reassemble.
Coilover guys, your work is just beginning and will be covered in-depth very soon.

But let me know approximately when so I make sure to have a pair there for you. Just give John or Larry $40 cash, tellem it's for me and we'll call it even.
I'm retired, live in a guarded/gated resort community and can't have a lot of Audi-related traffic in & out of my place due to the covenant controlled community thing. They'd have a hissy-fit if they knew what I was doing in my garage.

Looks great, I really like the lead in for alignment.
For all our turbo machinery at work we build we always use a 2b, 2a thread which it sounds like yours is even better!
