5000 (MC) 10vT cam specs
After reading the article on Humanspeakers about using a 5000 cam in a Coupe GT, it got me thinking about a cheaper alternative to the Schrick for my NG.
While I realize it would ne nessesary to do some port matching and headwork to the current engine to see any reasonable gains from a cam...has anyone done this swap and can the gains from Huw's article be replicated in the NG? Also, what specs does the 5000 cam have as far as lift/duration etc.
Edit: D'oh...never bothered to search for 'camshaft' instead of cam. Anyone still want to chime in?

i read the article just now and it seems like a good idea to toy around with...only,
like they said, solid stays with solid and hyrdo stays with hydro. well the NG has hyrdo's in them and i dont know about the MC's. i could have sworn the mc-2 had hydrualic lifters. im thinkin of headin down to my local junkyard and seein how much i can pick up a MC head for. my turbo swap has been set back greatly and i need to make my car faster somehow! its just too damn slow!

Yeah, the MCs have hydraulic ...
but people say that since its a turbo cam, the valve lift is increased, however the valve opening time is decreased. So I dont know if you would really gain. I guess it's worth a try though.
BTW I meant to say it last time, nice sig! ;-)
