The TB gear has the same # of teath and diameter, but the offset from front of the block is different. By using an NG gear on with a 7A head, the timing belt will hang off the back of the cam gear about 1/8"

I was under the impression I needed a 7A TB gear(crank) and v-belt pulley to convert the AAN to v-belt... and someone told me the 7A and NG crank pulleys were the same.
make sense?

The TB gear is the same, it's the damper that has a different offset. It will work, just with a slightly misaligned TB. I went through this a few months back. You can turn down the NG damper to make it work.

http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14770&postdays=0&postorder =asc</a
