80Q v6 Saloon Cyl Head removal
I am contemplating doing the head gaskets on my 80Q v6 (AAH Engine), as one is starting
to leak oil (again) and I have previuously nipped them down.
I don't expect any dramas, head gasket replacement isn't new to me, but
here's the question before I disable the car and go too far to move it -
Can you get the head bolts out on the v6 with the engine in place, or do they
hit the body structure ?
If so, how do you get the heads off, without taking the engine out ?
Any other tips / tricks / potential nightmares explained greatly
appreciated.
TIA

80Q with a V6???? Sounds interesting. Didn't know the V6 was available on that model.....
You should be able to do the head gaskets with the engine in the car. Make sure you have new head bolts though. Audi uses stretch bolts.

Re: U.S. models are named "90" outside U.S., they all called "80" even '93-'95.
Yes, it's a 1993 UK spec A80 2.8 v6 Q saloon, AAH engine. It is a rare model even in the UK though. 2.6 Q and 2.8 FWD seem more common. So rare that the local MOT station doesn't have it listed in his emmission tester database, so he has to use 'standard' limits - passes with no cats !
