90 coupe has small steering flutter at 60mph and re balanced tires ? Could it be the steering damper
I still feel a very fine shimmy (wheel flutter) at speeds around 60mph when wheel is straight. Any ideas other than balance? Mechanic told me that the front end seem tight (ball joints etc). could it be the steering damper?

Things you could check: Control Arm Bushings, alignment, Rotate Tires and check again
sometimes, it happens due to unusual wear on tires. For example, you just had them balanced. Maybe they ran unbalanced a while. Now they are balanced, the uneven wear is showing up as a strange feeling. Rotate the tires to take this out of consideration.
