Default 90 CQ - Throttle / Idle problems

Recently a couple problems have cropped up with the Audi, and I'm looking for some advice.

First, periodically I get a sticky or stuck throttle. It only happens under hard driving, but the odd thing about it is that when it sticks, the throttle does not get stuck wide open. In fact, it ALMOST seems as if cruise control is on or something when it happens. In gear, I maintain a constant speed, and out of gear, the engine revs to about 4k and stays there (not that I've left it like that fore more than a second). Any ideas as to what might be the issue here?

Next, sometimes I get a wandering idle. There seems to be a 150-200rpm band around the normal idle rpm. The idle will jump up to say 1200 rpm, then down to 1050. When it happens, it jumps up and down very rythmically (it's not all over the place... it's like I'm intentionally blipping the throttle at precise intervals). It has never happened that I recall while the vehicle is cold.

yeah.. just reading on 20v.org and the wandering idle appears to most likely be caused by the ISV.

That one should be simple to diagnose. As for the sticking throttle... ?

Vacuum tubing is cheap, might as well replace it all.

Vacuum tubing is definitely NOT cheap. Especially the hose that connects to the ISV. That ran me around 90 bucks from dealership for my 80q.

I get my tubing at Auto-Zone, Advance, you name it. I did both my cars for under $20. Yes, some of the tubes do have to be bought from the dealership, but I would start with the smaller tubes first. It's funny how when your fixing vacuum lines, the real problem just pops up. Usually this happens when one of the lines just crumbles in your hand.
