Default 90CS ICV problems

Hey yall.
Gotta 93 90CS with what seems to be a ICV problem. I got a quote from the local shop for about $400 to replace this. Is it true that I can clean it myself for fairly cheap, and take care of my near-stalling problem? Also have front control arm problems. Normal? What aftermarket parts should I use?
Thanks!
Heath

Default Yes, clean the ICV first...

And if that doesn't help, it shouldn't be too hard, for even a novice to replace. Cleaning fixed my near-stalling issue though.

right on....i'll clean it tomorrow. Replacing looks pretty straight forward too, if needed. Any thoughts on the suspension problems? It rattles at the front passenger side (american) when going over bumps. I was told control arms and bearings. Is the rumor true, that when they dropped in the bigger motor, Audi didn't update the suspension to handle the weight?

Default How about your suspension components are just worn from xxx,xxx miles? Pretty standard really..

...the strut mount/bushings do tend to wear out sooner than later...ball joints only last 100k miles...

yeah, maybe so. Just rolled over 100grand, but it's been bumping since 88K. Getting sideways in the gravel and snow probably doesn't help~

I'd inspect all of your suspension components and replace as necessary...
