@Dino_V: The speedometer is fine, it's the odometer and trip-meter (resetable odometer thing) that don't work. I've heard that there is a little plastic gear that turns these and over the years it degrades and eventually stops working completely. Solution is to replace the gear, but I haven't done it nor found the gear yet.
Also, the front left CV axle is much easier to replace. The passenger-side one is obscured by the exhaust, so I had to use a very long extension to get to the bolts. You may also want to make sure you have all the correct tools first. I needed an 8mm triple square bit. It fit into a half inch or 13mm socket, which I put on an extension to reach the bolts.

also on the speedo... in my caise, my solder points were broken, i resoldered every single peace on the gauge cluster, has bean working wonderfully ever since, and no parts to replace
