Default 94 90s f--ked gas gauge....POLL!

Ok guys my 1994-90s gas gauge used to move around incoherantly but now lays at zero and stays there...what is the most likely to fail first the gauge or sending unit....what fixed yours?...I'll poll this for future reference...thanks!

Default fixed gas gauge

Well I pulled sending unit put an ohm meter on it and it checked out fine at60-280 ohms....then pulled apart the cluster checked the gauge it worked with low voltage applied...then I made sure all connectors were clean including the 3 pronged mini voltage box on back of cluster by the gauge and after reassembly it works! hope it stays that way! so although I don't absolutely know what the fix is the test on the sending unit is easy and the cluster aint too bad to pull and clean,,,,good luck...

my 94 90's gas guage is dead too. it used to move incoherently but now nothing. If I can figure out this no spark issue I am having then Myabe I will have to pull apart the cluster and try to clean and or resoder the connections as necessary and see if that works.

check the voltage stabilizer? There's a regulator on the back of the cluster. pin 1 (+) and 2 (-) should be 9.8 to 10.4 V, and 3 (+) and 2 should be battery voltage.
Long shot, but worth a check.
