96 cabriolet leaking gear oil from diff on automatic tranny
Anybody experienced a leaking diff seal from one of the front drive Audi model 90 automatics? I have changed the left side seal behind the hub/axel and it seems pretty dry, but I still have a good deal of gear oil dripping. how does the diff bolt up the the auto tranny and the degree of difficulty in getting the tranny out and then separating the diff from the tranny. I've done some ball buster audi projects including clutch, oil pan, rear main seal on my 93 model 90 quattro, so I'm game. Just a little advice on separating the engine transmission, unbolting the torque converter from the flex plate, and any things to look for and/or change when attacking this project. I love the cabriolet, both in looks, style and comfort. It makes my wifes e-36 BMW convertible seem crude for cars of the same era.
