My '95 that I bought a few months ago has a little "personality". If my trunk is locked with the slot in the vertical position I have no problems at all. If it is in any other position it sometimes only lifts the lid a couple of inches, sometimes not at all, and sometimes works fine.

The check was visual. There were no cracks or breaks in the insulation. I didn't do any continuity check. Do you know where the sensors are?

you have to slice the insulation to really see, otherwise a visual check is worthless. After you check the wires then I could give you some help on sensors if needed.
