Default ? about B4 hood conversions...

If I had a CQ and wanted to swap to a CF hood what would I need to do the work.

I actually want to know if I got hood pins would I still need anything from the B4 to make it work? With the hood pins I would not need to use the stock hood release would I? TIA

Default to make it "work" just swap everything from the CQ hood

To do it "right" you'll need the B4 hood release lever, B4 grill, and either B4 headlights or the HID's. Will also need to get the little pieces that go under the headlights on a B4. If you use the stock hood latches, it is recommended to cut the springs a little (reduces pressure on the hood when closed)

With hood pins you should be ok for everything, i have heard and seen them work without replacing the headlights, but it looks wierd. So i am waiting till i can get the HID's.

Also, this may sound stupid, but dont keep the Hyd. prop rod connected to the hood. Can cause bad day with CF hood.

good luck.

HIDs? What do HIDs have to do with B3/B4s? You mean RS2s?

What's the Hyd. prop rod?? If I used the CF Hood with hood pins and didn't swap anything from a B4 other then the headlights little pieces under the headlights and the grill, would it sit right? Thanks again

Default hyd. prop rod, the thing that holds your hood up on ur CQ

I am not sure but i think the stock hood latches have something to do with how the hood sits, so you may need to include them unless hood pins can do the same. Other than that everything should be fine.
