Are alot of the audi 80 -> audi 90 parts interchangable? Headlights, tail lights, etc?

Type numbers
Audi assigned its models type numbers in addition to the B platform codes:
* F103: Audi 80 (1966-1969)
* Type 80: B1; Audi 80 (1973-1976)
* Type 82/33: B1; Audi 80 (1977-1978)
* Type 81: B2; Audi 80 and 90 (4000 in US) (1979-1987)
* Type 85: B2; Audi Coupé (1981-1987); Audi 4000 quattro (1984-1987); Audi 4000 (Canada) (1981-1987) ; Audi quattro (1981-1991); Audi Sport quattro (1984-1987)
* Type 89/8A: B3; Audi 80/90 (1987-1992)
* Type 89Q: B3; Audi 80/90 quattro (1987-1992)
* Type 8B: B3; Audi Coupé (1989-1996); Audi S2 (1991-1996)

If they're different years, then you have to be careful. There was a VIN split in '88. The early '88s had a one-piece rear suspension (strut and hub are welded together, like on the 4000q). THe late '88s had a two piece rear suspension (hubs and struts bolt together, like the front struts on the 90q).
That means that rear wheel bearings are different between VIN splits.
Brakes are all the same... assuming they're both B3 quattro's.
Headlights are identical
Tail lights look different but bolt up the same.
Exhaust is the same AFAIK.
