Default Oh... and the tranny plug is a metric hex... either 17mm or 19mm...

I can't remember which one it is... but you'll need a larger metric hex... pretty sure it's 17mm.

how sure is "pretty sure"? As in get a 19mm & 17mm or just buy a 17mm?

Default ya... like 99% sure it's 17mm...

when I had my old VW, we made up a drain plug tool out of an old lug bolt... which would have been 17mm.

I've got a whole set of 1/2" drive metric hex... got it at Princess Auto (the equivalent to your Harbor Freight). IIRC it's 8mm to 19mm.

Even has the size needed to adjust the 90q door hinges to level the door. (12mm or 13mm... can't remember)

Default do you have the special "security" bit for the drain plug?....

looks kinda like a "securaty-torx" or a "tipple square" with a post in the middle to prevent a normal tipple square form going in.

Default nope... pretty sure we don't have that tool.

None of my older stuff has needed anything like that.
