the newer iPods are tricky to get apart. And once you do they looked all hacked up. Its not all that tricky though. I would rather send it off to a "pro" than do this myself. 4G'S are pretty tough to get apart, Mini...even harder. The newer 5G's (ie Video's) I have no clue. The only thing is that these things are really fragile. Little IDe cables and things running around that can be EASILY ripped. Its not the soldering that is that hard part. You need hands of the best micro-surgeon to get in there trust me....I am in the surgical field...I know.

tey are easy to open.... try cellophane in red on the window
the lcd display sits behind it. would be a next to nothing cost mod. I remember reading and seeing pics of someone doing it. I think it was some where on ilounge.com

I have a 3G and have changed my batt. My sister in law's dumped water in hers. Fixes it easy
