Default Anyone know whether a 1.8 steel timing cover from a 4K...

will fit a 3A 2.0? Getting ready to tear the Duke's motor down. The plastic cover is trashed, of course, and don't like just not having one.

Default If they fit, yes. I need the lower and upper section, I think....

Unless I can use the lower plastic section with the upper steel. If you can grab me one, that would be awesome. Also, there's a JY in the Fort Wayne area that has a complete 9A from a 91 Golf or something. If you can, can you check and see if it's still in the car? Maybe we can make an outing of looting the motor - I'll need the fuel system and ecu as well. I'll get you the name of the yard, or you can go on Carparts.com and look up a complete 9A engine (90-92 Golf, Passat) and see which yard it is. Thanks man!

I was going to ask the opposite, as I have a newer plastic covering.

Default I was going to shy away from the plastic, just because they break like this one....

But if I need one I know where to turn to.
