I once owned a Mitsubishi (blah!) and it did something like that when my brake fluid was low.

Default Get cracking...

Find your owner's (glove-box) manual, your car is warning you to crack it open (a car like this deserves a little literary effort on the part of it's owner)!

or get one(/borrow/dealer/e-bay/junkyard/Bentley Publishers?). There are several warning lights, which one? What symbol is it indicating? Help yourself, help the potential helpers help you.

Perhaps it is something simple like, your coolant level is borderline low, so the reservoir level sensor is trying to tell you to fix it. As the car warms up, the tank level rises slightly and doesn't quite trigger the low light anymore; until it cools down again.

Lacking the above, crack the bonnet and have look.
