Default Audi 90 Electrical problems!

Help!
Newbie here...just replaced the ignition switch in my 1995 Audi 90 (in less than 30 min. with the help of other threads on this site...thanks!), but now relay #213 blew! I believe that is the load reduction relay? What now? Is the new ignition switch bad? What next, any ideas?

A little history would help.....
Why did you replace the ignition switch?
Did you replace it with an oem switch?
Have you replaced the relay to see if it was just the relay?
Have you checked all your fuses?
Did you pull out the relay to visually inspect it?
Have you pulled the codes to see if anything comes up?

good luck

Default

Replaced the ignition switch because occassionally upon starting the car I had no blinkers, wipers or lights, sometimes no fan. I would have to turn off the car and restart it. Alot of times the car barely would start and recently had to have it towed because it wouldn't start at all. Mechanic diagnosed as bad ignition and wanted a fortune to replace it. We replaced it with oem switch, it blew #213 relay, had to wait a few days for a new one to be shipped, replaced it and now the car doesn't start. Put in old starter switch and still nothing! So, car got towed (again)to a shop and now we see what's next!! Oh, should have mentioned...of course this happened to my husband while he was on a road trip, so he has been stranded since Saturday!!

Anyone out there have a problem like this??

Default Stranded equals no good......

Well, alot of electrical gremlins either come from ignition switch or trunk wiring harness. I know it sounds weird but if you search trunk wiring you'll come up with alot of common problems attributed to broken wires in the trunk.
Never heard of a no start though from trunk wiring but sounds like your on the right track.Once you get it sorted out I think you'll find that they are wonderful cars but still are 15 years old.

good luck
