Default Audi B4 Quator? Wheel power 60:40?

Hi...
I can not find any info on this it is important to me. What is power ration on fron and back wheels. Is it 60:40. I am asking for B4 80, Quatro 1994.

I have 4 set of winter tires, and two of then are in great shape and other 2 are bit worse then other. Where do I put good tires? Front or Back??

Default You put the best two on the front, regardless of the torque split.

FWIW,

The car in question uses a torsen center differential. Torque split is anywhere from 27:73 to 73:27 if my memory serves me correctly.

It's 50:50 until slip. Put your best tires on the back to maintain understeer (safe) snow handling

I disagree. Putting best on the front reduces yaw stability, increasing the odds of a spin.

Default But it gives you better braking

and likely the fronts will be trying to use the available friction to both steer and stop.

Default Steering is a better way to miss a wreck than braking.

And if we're talking about snow handling here, braking is going to be pretty shoddy anyway, so we should concentrate on doing our best not to back the car into a tree or a ditch.

Default True, but....

sliding into an intersection and getting T boned isn't going to be much fun either.

I guess it could be said it somewhat depends on the type of driving, city vs. hwy. Hwy is obviously less braking and a greater chance of a fishtail whereas city there is more likelyhood of sliding under braking.

Default It really comes down to preference and driving style, most people

slam on the brakes to avoid accidents and occasionally try to steer around one (but this usually only occurs if there is an experienced driver behind the wheel) Natural instinct is to slam on the brakes.

With non quattro cars, good tires always go on the drive wheels.

I would put mine on the front, just cause I like to pull the ebrake and do a little sliding here and there (for fun, in a parking lot)
