How do I drain the fluid from my auto tranny in my 89 90 sohc inline 5? It looks to me like I would drain it at the spot where my filler tube goes into the pan, but the person b4 me had stripped the hell out of it. Should I just take the 4 bolts off the pan and drain it like that, then at that time I could replace the tranny pan gasket? How hard is it to change the tranny filter if there is one? how do I do it? Anything else I should do when doing this to the tranny?

How do you think is the best way to disconnect the tube being that it is stripped out? I tried using visegrips but they just slipped. If visegrips dont work I cant think of what will. I had them on tight and they wouldnt grip it.

Its possible to remove the pan with the tube attached, but its a PITA...
One more reason I got rid on my auto-box ;O)

Assuming you mean that the nut is rounded, not that the threads are stripped. If it's cross threaded and you do get it apart it will probably leak when you re-assemble.
