Default Aux Gauges Dim, 4 volts at each globe?

G'day guys, I have just installed the B4 aux gauges into my B4 quattro. Everything went smoothly but the illumination is very dim....I'm talking barely lit! I stuck a multimeter on the globe connection and I'm only getting 4 volts. I traced the 12V illumination feed on the aux gauges PCB and there's a resistor on the PCB that cuts the voltage from 12v to around 4V before the power eaches the globes. Is this normal? should I:
-replace resistor?
-bypass resistor so globes get full 12V?
-put in higher wattage globes?

Any ideas on how to solve this?

George

Cheers

try higher wattage bulbs first.

Default Where is the dimmer?

Thanks Brdman, I didn't notice any dimmer control on the aux gauges. Is this on the PCB on the back of the cluster?

I'll look for the dimmer and see how I go. Thanks.

Checked dimmer, was at about 95% already. Aux gauges need to be about twice as bright as they currently are. I'll hunt down some 2 watt globes, but I'm still bugged that I'm only getting 4V at each globe.

Default bulbs aren't the problem then. you need 12v to the bulbs...
