Default On a B3, if the key goes in the door lock and doesn't have any resistance when turned...

...so the door doesn't lock (but still locks from the inside and locks when the key is placed in the passenger side door) what is the usual culprit?

Default or #23/27 (whichever goes to the door handle/lock cylinder)?

Default It's #5. #18 is just a clip that hold the whole thing in place.

And unless your car has an alarm, you probably have the assembly on top. The one on the bottom has the switch for the alarm. I think it does the window roll-up/down thing too. Item #17 on the bottom would be it if you have that setup.

Default It doesn't show 5 as a valid part for '88s - so I'm assuming it'd have to be 17 - anything...

...specific to the top diagram is not available - only the bottom (or shared between the two).
