Hi guys, after hours and hours of searching the STFA about adapting the sport wheel to a pre late 1995 b4 I still am confused on a couple things.
So i am able to pick up a wheel from a 1997 a4, which i know is the right spline size, and i also am able to get the column parts from a cabriolet. So is this list everything that i need?
-Pre 1998 a4 sport steering wheel
-Cabriolet steering column and covers
-Cabriolet signal stalks
-Sleeve adapter pn 8a0-419-787b
My main question is i read that the cabriolet signal stalk wiring harness will is not the same as the original stalk. How do i go about making this work? Do i need new connectors to splice in?
Also what tools do i need to do the swap? I am in college right now so my tool supply is limited for the time being

I actually have access to a machine shop so i could do a pretty good job... So let me get this straight, if i do that method, i dont need to replace the stalks or get that adaptor? What about the clock spring? I would still need the updated one right? Is there any documentation on this?

Would everyhthing still work (except for the signal cancelling of course) if i just cut it off the 3 spoke? I actually hate signal cancel, so i wouldnt mind going without it if it didnt affect anything else..

Awesome!!! That is soo helpful! Do you guys think i can just cut off the canceling tab on the A4 wheel and just not have the signal cancel operation work?
Also my lead on the column surrounds bailed, anyone have any they want to sell?
