Hi to all. I have a 1995 Audi Cabriolet. While Having the rotors and breaks replaced, the mechanic suggested I replace the lower control arms due to a squaeking noise while steering. Can I replace the ball Joints and Bushings instead or are they an all inclusive part.
Thanks

new control arms with bushings and without ball joints are over 200 each, bushings are fairly cheap and the labor to have them pressed in is not that bad.
unless you actually have a bent or cracked control arm, just upgrade around it

FAIRLY. If you've never done this type of work before then I suggest 1. doing it with someone who has wrenched before, 2. take to a mech.
The ball joints are not too expensive. Can be had for like ~$40 to $50 a piece.
The bushings for the control arms can be had for like ~$10-15. The bushsings need to be machined in/out of the control arms and unless you have a press, you will need to take it somewhere that can do so. Different places charge different. I once seen it done for $15 for both. It all matters with that stuff though.
This should all be done at once IMO since you're there and taking those portions apart. Since you're getting to to c-amrs then might as well do the ball joints.
