Cabrio needs new front caliper....

The drivers side front caliper is binding to the disc and gets very hot. My mechanic said the car needs a new caliper due to the piston seizing.
The cabrio is only a 2.0 and has the single piston caliper, I can either buy a new identical caliper and have my mechanic fit it.
But another option I was thinking of was to replace both front calipers with the twin piston from the 2.8 model? Has anybody done this before? I know I'll need new discs as the twin uses a 276X25MM-4/108 ventilated disc opposed to the single 280X22MM-4/108 disc.
Will this be a simple direct swap?
Thanks in advance!

You'll probably want to check out what people have done with their Girling G54 (single piston) setups on the 90q20v. There is information on that on 20v.org, most of which will be applicable (I don't know if you will need the special rotors the 90q20v does or not, hopefully you can just use a CQ/90 12v rotor).
I think its under the "Upgrades & Enhancements" section of 20v.org

I would check the guide pins first. They are probably what is binding in the brakes. If the piston in not leaking, I can't think of why it would be seizing. I mostly see brakes seizing because of the pins. The boots go bad and then the pins will seize. If you need the new calipers let me know and I will look for them.
