Default my B4 set was purchased a year or so ago. Rears were great fronts are JUNK!!

Front springs would stack solid and sound like the dashboard was being ripped out by a back-hoe every time I hit 3" bump. Even pushed/bent my strut tower bore surrounds upwards which had to be hammered back down. Takes a pretty good lick to hammer a strut tower bore surround upwards thru an OEM rubber mount that also has the .094" thick steel plate welded to the strut towers!! If I would've had a B3, or earlier chassis with 2ply instead of the B4 3ply strut towers I would've blown BOTH front stut mounts thru the strut towers and out the top of the hood! Now even with solid front strut mounts and 650lb front springs I've never come close to bottoming out, stacking my springs solid or bending my strut tower bore surrounds upward again!

sounds horrid. Did you replace all 4 after that or just the fronts?

Default I did a MAJOR suspension overhaul after that with all new custom struts using...

larger diameter front struts from a rear CQ with CNC'd height-adjustable quick-ratio steering arms and titanium tie rods and sway bar links. Coilovers at all 4 corners with Ohlins 2-way adjustable rears. All extreme heavy-duty teflon lined extreme angle spherical bearings with big brakes front and rear and nickel-plated EVERYTHING!!

My tastes were "simple"... I "simply" wanted the BEST!!

Default My set was red too but nowhere near identical related to wire thickness, coil count &...

or coil spacing. I "believe" my fronts had an extra 1-1.5 coils and were approx 2mm thicker and about 1.5" taller but dont hold me to that as I'm going from memory.

Cant imagine how/why H&R would make identical springs front/rear when there's such a HUGE front/rear weight difference. But you're the second one thats said that so I gotta believe its happened. Besides, whatta I know!?!

Default now you got me all worried... (edit)

I'll go count coils atleast after work. - They definitely have all the same numbers on the springs. -Nothing to distinguish them there.

Default Heres my UPDATE....

Just been contacted by the store that sold them to me.
My first email to the store reads:

I received my springs and mounts from my friend last week. When I opened them up. All 4 springs have the same code. Why ? They should be front and rears. I have a 60/40 split in weight ratio, not 50/50. These springs should be different from front to rear. ????

His reply:

Research proved that the car handles better that way.

I have just email Vogtland, North America directly and await their reply and input.
